Been sleeping in the sunshine on Billy Bob's lap. He's snoring now.

It's been a while since I wrote on my blog, and Shenanny just woke me up, and told me I'd better catch up a little.

Live is good here, but they still don't allow dogs at the church where my folks go. Once, they went to a church where a dog was attending. It was a border collie.

Do you think Jesus had a dog? I imagine him having a border collie, and that it helped him round up all those sheep. JESUS is Shenanny's GOOD SHEPHERD.

Shenanny said there was a nice country dog at Aunt Gertrude's graveside the other week. It gave her a feeling of comfort. She loves doggies, and says that she loves me and Jazz most of all.

GOD must really love dogs, too. Why else would HE make our name so similar to his?!?

My, but it's been a long time since I was in here. Shenanny told me I needed to announce to folks that I will be eight years old next Sunday!!! I was only four when I started this blog.

Look at me in this picture. Don't I look happy? That's my human big bro, John, and his fiancee, Donna.

They called this pm after they got home from GA where they spent the last five days doing historical research at an old plantation home. John said he felt like he had gone back in time as they had no TV. Said that he felt like he was staying at the White House with the elaborate decorations and big rooms. He also visited the national headquarters for the Quality Deer Management Association in Macon, and talked to a friend there.

Glad folks can go on vacation. As for me, I just want to stay home, and enjoy the peace and quiet with Shenanny. My canine buddy, Jazz, has gone on vacation, too. I will tell about her in my next blog. Later, Love, Ellie Rose

Opposites Attract??? 1:45 pm


WOW!!! It's been a really long time since I wrote in my blog. Some folks said they had missed my writing. So, here goes!!!

Shenanny had me and Jazz outside, and we just came in for a posing, or is that posting session. Only bad thing is, we weren't in the mood for posing. Both of us just want to curl up and sleep now. Jazz is already on the sofa and I will get back in my sunny window seat in a minute or so. Billy Bob is snoozing in the La Z Boy.


This photo is the best Shenanny could do today. I guess she was lucky to get it.

When we were outside Jazz ran after the old golf cart while I got to ride. We call her Race Horse when she does that as we pretend we are exercising her like those horses out at the fairgrounds.


We rode down by the gourd patch and checked them out. There is one there about 77 inches long!!! Shenanny wants to make a rain stick or a didgeredo (?) out of it!!! Then we rode over to see the Big Pumpkin in Barry's patch. He plans to take it to the state fair in a couple of weeks.


We checked in the potting shed to see if any cats. No cats, but Shenanny was upset as Billy Bob had put his motor scooter right in front of her workbench. I hope he moves it, or she will probably move it for him!!! Right now, he has a big tractor taking up space in his garage and he should be finished with it in a day or two.


Another beautiful day here in the Valley. Don't you just love these clear blue crisp days with the Monarch butterflies???? Nothing quite like a September Day unless one of those perfect days of June. Time to stop and smell the roses.

Well, this has been fun, and I will be getting in here more often with autumn and winter coming on.

In My Easter Bonnet!!!

Well, Shenanny went and done it again. She dressed me up and took my pic!!! She says it's my Easter rehearsal. She says that when I get this posted that I can go outside and play with Jazz!!! So, I guess it's worth it.

Don't I look real cute? That's what everybody keeps saying. Shenanny bought my outfit at the thrift store. I think she paid $1.50 for the dress and hat. So, that's not bad. She says the little girl's Easter dresses at the Apple Blossom Mall are $30 or so. I guess I'm blessed that she shops for me and gets the good buys. She buys most of my stuffed toys there for 25 cents each, and I really like them. I drag them all thru the house and about shake them to pieces. Then they sleep in the sunshine with me on the blanket chest. A girl never had it so good!!!

Well, I will close for now. It's time for Shenanny and me to get out and get some exercise. She's feeling better since spring is here, but we sure wish it would warm up and the windy would calm down.

Sundays, Pet Therapy, Etc

Sundays are great as I usually get to see more relatives. This afternoon my human brother, John, and his girlfriend, Joy, were here. They came by after his softball practice at the county park while Billy Bob was watching the auto race on TV. I like Joy. She has pretty eyes like a doll baby, and likes to play with me. Speaking of doll babies, I will tell you all later about Shenanny planning to make a handpainted cloth doll to look like me!!!!

Later in the evening I got to ride to the rest home with BB and Shenanny to visit my Grandma Betty. She was so glad to see me. Told me I was pretty, shiney and fat!!! I got to sit on her lap and tried to give her kisses. Was doing my Pet Therapy thing!!! Sometimes, I do this as a special treat to the folks in the Rest Home. They are always glad to see me. I was looking for the two cats that live there, but they must have been outside. At night they sleep in Gma's closet. I could smell where those ornery rascals had been.

We came back home and walked over to see Robin, Barry and Jazz. They had just brought the Bass Tracker back from the river. Robin finally got to try it out. They left Jazz at home so they could have some peace and quiet. She's already been fishing on the boat with Barry and he gets tired of her trying to work all the controls!!!

So, that's about it tonight. I'm getting sleepy. I've lived here six months now, and I will let you know more as I continue on my journey.

After the Bath is Over (or the COLORS of my Life)

Well, here I sit in the office chair still pondering my plight in life. Shenanny says it's time for me to post on this blog again!!! Said I could do that while I dry. I wonder if y'all like me better in COLOR or BLACK and WHITE???? I don't look too happy as Shenanny has that half wet towel drapped over me. She added the doll head for more interest and color if you like. I would like to chew it up!!!!! Now, that would perk up my ears!!! LOL

She gave me a bath and used Lavender shampoo. She probably will have me smelling like Wind Song, too, as she sprayed some on herself. I would rather go outside and smell like the March wind. Oh well, maybe, I can do both!!! Maybe, I can find something "good" to roll around in!!! Catch y'all later.

Odie and FAT Little Me

Odie is my best buddy next to Jazz, Shenanny and Billy Bob. He sleeps in the sunshine and runs through the house with me. I carry him in my mouth and shake him. LOL I chewed his tail off, too!!! He is used to that FAT CAT Garfield in the funny paper. So, I guess he can take my abuse.

Now Shenanny says I am FAT. She says that she can't feel my ribs when I am standing. She and I are going on a diet and trying to get more exercise. She really needs it, too. This morning she walked me around the fields and backyard. In a couple of weeks she will start back to PT to get her up and going better. She has Bursitis in one of her hips along with all her other aches and pains, and has a hard time walking sometimes. She says we will get back in shape sooner or later. I wish I could go to PT with her, but she says no dogs are allowed unless they are service dogs.

Maybe, I could be a service dog. Shenanny says that I have to listen better before I could do that. She says that I am a good little heating pad. Maybe, that is the best service I can provide for now. I'll go get back in the sunshine and get heated up again. No doubt Shenanny will want me to take a good nap with her later today. She likes my warm little FAT body on her lap. She says I'm a warm cozy. I'll buy that!!!! :o)
