Hi Folks. I would like to introduce myself. I'm Ellie and I am four years old. I came to the Shrum home three weeks ago this past Friday. My old human family moved to Ohio and took my canine mother, Dutchess, with them. They sold me to my new mommy (Shenanny) and daddy (Billy Bob). They are good caring folks and feel so blessed to have me. Shenanny is the leader of the pack. She feeds me, sleeps with me, and does all the other nurturing and fun things. Billy Bob is okay, too. He is an early bird and takes me outside the first thing each morning. Shenanny is the night owl and lets me watch TV late at night with her. Lots of time I sleep on her lap while she is on this computer just typing and typing!!!
My AKC name is Eloquent Rose Marie, but I prefer to be Ellie Rose or just plain "Ellie". I am a female, but got fixed this past Wednesday. Oh well............
Shenanny is trying to get me socialized with other canines and humans. She took me to the last day of the Shenandoah County Fair and to the Edinburg Ol' Time Festival where I rode on a BIG PUMPKIN with her in the parade. Billy Bob drove the tractor that pulled the wagon load of pumpkins. I love to ride in the vehicles with them and on the old golf cart.
Shenanny and Billy Bob's grandpuppy, Jazz, lives next door. She spend lots of time here at our house. She's a LARGE yellow lab, and at first I didn't like her. I didn't want her getting any more attention than me. Now, we try to get along and make everyone happy.
I am always getting my picture taken, it seems. Shenanny has a new camera and likes to dress me up. You should see the pic of me with my Minnie Mouse slippers on!!!
Just today I went to PAWS in the PARK where I saw lots of nice dogs and their humans. There were two other Bostons, some Pugs, a really neat Cocker Spaniel, and lots of other purebreeds and mixed breeds. One cute little dog was part Chinese Crested. He is getting pretty old and was given special treatment by Cindy, his owner. The event was to raise money for The Humane Society of Shenandoah County. Shenanny joined the society and gave them a donation so she could get a free shirt. The society folks tied a red scarf around my neck, but it was too big. One lady called me "Grandma Moses". I really felt more like "Aunt Jemima"!!! Shenanny had a great time, and you can bet that she will try to help them out by doing more things so other doggies can have a good life like mine.
Catch y'all later.
Love, Ellie
